Investigation of Stain Patterns from Diverse Blood Samples on Various Surfaces

Bloodstain Pattern Analysis (BPA) is a crucial forensic technique in crime scene investigation, employing the interpretation of blood spatter patterns to reconstruct event sequences and determine spatial relationships between victims and surfaces. This study explores BPA’s application in forensic science, emphasizing its role in establishing links between crimes and culprits, as posited by Edmond Locard’s exchange principle. The research examines how bloodstain shape, size, and distribution reveal critical information about impact angles, areas of convergence, and points of origin, while also providing insights into blood flow direction, force applied, suspect positioning, and weapons used. The investigation delves into various bloodstain types, including void patterns, spikes, and satellite stains, and their formation on different surfaces. To enhance understanding of blood behaviour from various sources, the study compares blood samples from three species: human (Homo sapiens), obtained from a professional doctor from discarded piles with precaution from a government hospital in Laxmangarh, Rajasthan and goat (Capra aegagrus hircus), and chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus), obtained from butcher shops in Laxmangarh, Rajasthan. The experimental setup involves dropping blood from a height of 50 centimetre’s and measuring the resulting stain dimensions. This comprehensive approach to BPA research aims to refine crime scene analysis techniques, ultimately contributing to more accurate event reconstructions and enhanced forensic investigations. The study underscores the importance of BPA in modern forensic science while acknowledging the need for its integration with other investigative methods to ensure robust and reliable crime scene interpretations.

Clinical Case of Successful Therapy for the Patient with Autism by use of Fetal Stem Cells

More than 60 million persons all over the world are living with the diagnosis of “Autism”, in accordance with the UNO. According to the WHO, almost every hundredth child is a sufferer of ASD. Such figures emphasize globalization of the problem, and its impact not only on the child’s family but also on the economies of entire countries.Autism diagnosis is difficult and based on the general symptoms in kids. Today, the neuroimaging techniques (methods of functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and MRI tractography), Electroencephalography (EEG), evoked cognitive potentials and dynamic monitoring of the results help with an objective evaluation of stem cell therapy.Treatment options in modern pharmacology and rehabilitation psychotherapy for ASD kids are limited. Therapy methods do not ensure a full integration into social life and personality awareness. To alleviate likely problems in society, different therapeutic approaches exist that might reduce the manifestation of the various autism symptoms. FSC therapy is one such innovative method that has recently become enough popular.We inform about the clinical case of successful treatment using fetal stem cells for a child with autism followed by the period of 1-year follow-up showing significant clinical results. Over one year, the positive changes that had been proved by the ATEC questionnaire, the EEG results, and MRI-tractography were noted by the patient’s family. As emphasized in the clinical case report, fetal stem cell  therapy is a promising and efficient treatment for children with autism. All that was sufficiently confirmed by the results acquired because we saw an overall improvement in this patient.

Assessment of Nutritional Knowledge, Alcohol and Tobacco Consumption in Amateur and Elite Youth Football Players

Introduction: Nutrition is increasingly recognized as a key component of optimal sports performance. On the other hand, insufficient and continuous food intake can compromise athletic performance and success where Nutritional Knowledge can play a leading role.Methods: One hundred and three youth athletes from 6 different clubs belonging to the District, Honor, and National Championship participated in this study. To assess Nutritional Knowledge, consumption of alcohol and tobacco the Abridged Nutrition for Sport Knowledge Questionnaire was applied.Results: The percentage of Nutritional Knowledge obtained in the District Championship was 31.25%, in the Honors it was 35.56% and in the National Championship it was 35.02%. No significant differences were found between the Nutritional Knowledge of athletes. In turn, there were statistical differences in the consumption of alcohol and tobacco among the athletes of the 3 Championships, with the District division having the highest percentage of smokers (100%) and alcohol consumers (42.6%).Conclusion: It is essential to increase the Nutritional Knowledge observed in these young athletes since it can have an influential role in their food choices.

Drug Abuse and Mental Illness in Erigavo Mental Hostiptal, Erigavo, Somalia

Mental illness is an international health crisis that puts the lives of over three hundred million people (Four percent of the world’s population) at risk. The study was conducted at the Erigavo Mental Hospital in Somaliland and its main focus was the bond between substance abuse and mental illness. The research was to check the influence of the different drugs, screen mental health problems, and draw a link between drugs and mental illness. The sources of the quantitative data were a total of 27 employees and managers. This study is cross-sectional. We employed the measure of the magnitude and direction of a linear relationship between two variables with the Pearson correlation coefficient. The outcomes that were acquired show that there was use and particularly abuse of khat, substance smoking, and alcohol consumption, the score means of which were quite high. The investigation results, however, imply that through drug use and other forms of alcohol drug abuse, one of them counter various mental health problems. Furthermore, the addicted people demonstrated the tendency to use force in their attempt to solve the conflicts and to experience the highest degree of tension, with the mean score of the former giving 4.11 while the standard deviation of the latter giving 1.086, thus this shows the mental impact of drug use on the inhabitants of Erigavo. The main result of the study was the strong, positive relationship between drug addiction and mental illness, which became evident through an r - value of 0.509 and a p - value of 0.559. It means that those people who are involved in drug misuse are the ones who are likely to have mental health disorders. Based on the findings of the study, we suggest a combination of measures to recover drug addiction and mental illness. This consists in strengthening prevention. The study that lays the groundwork for suggestions, involves an approach that is holistic in nature. The main ideas of preventing drug usage, psychological health care, enhancing mental health services, and working towards certified professionals are key integrated activities of the whole concept. The hospital, thus, will be in a better position to eliminate the two major disease components namely; drug abuse and mental ailment. Thus, in this way, with the help of the new treatment approaches, a hospital provides and their patients who are quite likely to recover and lead healthy.

Response of Chemical Fertilisation on Six-year-old Oil Palm Production in Shambillo-Padre Abad- Ucayali

It was proposed to determine the response of chemical fertilization in the production of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) six years old in the area of Rio Negro Shambillo Padre Abad in order to have a sustainable and economic alternative of chemical fertilization in the field stage, which contributes to the survival of the palm and provides the necessary resistance against pests and diseases. A completely randomized block design (DBCA) was used with four repetitions and treatments, 96 plants / UE / treatment were used, the spacing was 9x9 in rows and plants. Results obtained indicate the treatments; T3 and T2 (16,54 – 15,48 kg / plant) obtained the highest averages by bunch weight, T1 and T3 (17,48 – 15,42 fruits / bunch) obtained the highest averages regarding number of fruit / bunch, T1 and T3 (13,93 – 11,59 to 45 cm ) obtained the highest averages for bunch length, T1 and T3 (7,33 – 5,52 cm) obtained the highest averages regarding fruit length, T1 and T3 (11.37 – 9.54 g) obtained the highest averages regarding fruit weight, T1 and T3 (10,46 – 10,37 kg) obtained the highest averages to yield per plant. The addition of chemical fertilizers or organic amendments increases the weight of the oil palm bunch, consequently the production in soils with medium, low fertility; chemical fertilization influences the number of clusters of oil palm produced on a given surface, any dose is used as an alternative to phosphorous fertilization in oil palm with a direct relationship between plant height and root length.

Neuroprotective Effect of 7,8-dihydroxyflavone in a Mouse Model of HIV-Associated Neurocognitive Disorder (HAND)

Treatment for HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND) remains elusive. 7,8-dihydroxyflavone (DHF), an analog of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and a high-affinity TrkB agonist, has been proposed as a viable therapeutic alternative to BDNF in crossing the Blood-Brain Barrier (BBB) and promoting growth, differentiation, maintenance, and survival of neurons. Here, we expand on our previous study investigating the therapeutic role of DHF on the cortical and hippocampal brain regions of the Tg26 mice, an animal model of HAND. We detected increased immunoreactivity for ion channels (SUR1, TRPM4) and the water channel aquaporin-4 (AQP4), suggesting an ionic and osmotic imbalance in the brains of Tg26 mice. Tg26 mice also exhibited loss of synaptic stability (SYN, SYP) and nicotinamide metabolism (NAMPT, SIRT1) that were associated with astrogliosis. Furthermore, Tg26 mice demonstrated increased iNOS and reduced HO-1/NRF2 expressions, implicating increased ER and oxidative stress. DHF treatment in Tg26 mice reversed these pathological changes. These data suggest crosstalk among TrkB, Akt, and related transcription factors (NF-κB, STAT3, and NRF2) as an underlying mechanism of Tg26-associated pathology in the brain. Finally, taken together with our prior study, these results further highlight a therapeutic role of DHF in promoting neuroprotection in HAND that may be applied in conjunction with current antiviral therapies.

Obesity in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease as a Separate Clinical Phenotype

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a heterogeneous, progressive disease characterized not only by pathological changes in the lungs but also by significant extrapulmonary manifestations and serious concomitant diseases. The current problem for the study is the features of the relationship between COPD and adipose tissue since there are contradictory data in the literature. This review presents studies that claim that obesity aggravates the course of COPD, as well as the results of studies that describe the “obesity paradox” in patients with COPD. Due to the lack of unambiguous data, it is necessary to continue studying this problem to optimize the tactics of managing this group of patients and draw up clear recommendations for patients with COPD.

The microbiota-gut-brain axis (GBA) serves as a crucial connector between the brain’s emotional and cognitive centers and the peripheral intestinal functions, emphasizing the profound impact of gut health on overall well-being. The GBA is characterized by a symbiotic relationship between the gut and the brain, regulating the expression of inflammatory cytokines and neurotransmitters. The MGBA is also regulated by microbial metabolites, such as short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and fatty acid derivatives. This paper focuses on the importance of the GBA in regulating gut health and the potential for targeted therapeutic interventions to improve health outcomes. The implications of this research are vast, suggesting that future strategies aimed at modulating the gut biome may offer promising avenues for the development of personalized medicine and dietary interventions.

Neurovascular Shifts, Sensory Sensitivity, and PMDD in Autistic Women: Exploring Blood Flow Redirection, Mood Dysregulation, and Pain Tolerance during Menstruation

This article examines the relationship between Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), neurovascular dynamics, and sensory sensitivities in autistic women during menstruation. The redirection of blood flow to the uterus during the menstrual cycle has been found to exacerbate cerebral perfusion deficits in neurodivergent individuals, particularly in the Prefrontal Cortex (PFC), which contributes to the mood dysregulation and emotional instability characteristic of PMDD. Autistic women, who often exhibit heightened sensory sensitivities, experience intensified discomfort during menstruation, as sensory overload and altered pain perception compound the emotional challenges of PMDD. These findings emphasize the need for neurodivergent-friendly menstrual products that mitigate both physical and emotional discomfort. Additionally, innovations using biodegradable materials, smart fabrics, and custom-fit menstrual solutions are discussed as potential breakthroughs to improve the quality of life for autistic women managing PMDD. This research highlights the importance of addressing both neurobiological and sensory aspects when designing interventions for PMDD in neurodivergent populations.

Forecasting Soil Moisture in Caragana Shrubland Using Wavelet Analysis and NARX Neural Network

It is important for sustainable use of soil water resource and high-quality development to forecast the soil moisture in forestland of water-limited regions. There are some soil water models. However, there is not the best model to forecast the change of soil moisture in the caragana shrubland. In this paper, the plant water relationship has been investigated at the same time for a long term in the caragana shrubland of semiarid region of the Loess Plateau of China. The data of soil moisture was divided and then NARX neural network was used to build model I and model II. For model I, low frequency component was the input variable, and for model II, low frequency component and high frequency component were predicted. The results showed the average relative error for model I is 3.5% and for model II is 0.3%. The average relative error of predicted soil moisture in 100 cm layer using model II is 0.8%, then soil water content in the 40 cm and 200 cm soil depth is selected and the forecast errors are 4.9% and 0.4%. The results showed that using model II to predict soil water is well Predicting soil water using model II will be important for sustainable use of soil water resource and high-quality development.

Association Between Electrocardiographic Abnormalities and In-Hospital Adverse Outcome in COVID-19 Patients

Background: SARS-CoV-2 is increasingly recognized for its cardiovascular complications. To address the knowledge gap in our region, this study investigated the relationship between electrocardiographic (ECG) features and in-hospital mortality among COVID-19 patients.Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted involving 140 RT-PCR-confirmed COVID-19 patients at Dhaka Medical College Hospital from August 2021 to July 2022. Patients were divided into two groups based on ECG findings: normal (Group A) and abnormal (Group B). Clinical data and ECG parameters were analyzed using SPSS 24.0.Results: Patients with abnormal ECGs were older, more likely male, and presented with higher rates of dyspnea and palpitations. They were also at increased risk of severe COVID-19 and had longer hospital stays. In-hospital mortality was significantly higher in Group B (21.4% vs.4.3%). ST-T changes and atrial fibrillation were associated with increased mortality. Independent predictors of in-hospital mortality included ECG abnormalities and admission SpO₂ < 90%.Conclusion: ECG abnormalities are significantly associated with adverse outcomes in COVID-19 patients. Further large-scale studies are warranted to strengthen these findings.

After a couple of years of study, the results showed that Agricultural development went into agricultural high-quality development in 2017, which is to use effective measures or methods to maximize yield and benefits and meet the need of people's need for better Agricultural produce and a better life. The theory foundation of the sustainable utilization of natural resources and Agriculture high-quality production is the resources use limit by plants, vegetation carrying capacity, and critical period of plant resources relationship regulation. The methods of Agriculture high-quality development are to select excellent plant species or varieties based on site conditions and market needs before planting crop young plants and sowing seeds, adopt appropriate initial planting density when planting crop young plants and sowing seeds, and regulate the relationship between plant growth and resources need in the process of crop production in a timely and appropriate amount, especially the chemical fertilizer and pesticide to obtain the maximum yield and benefits and realize the sustainable utilization of natural resources and achieve agricultural high-quality development.

Pseudocalcinosis Tumorale (Teutschlander Disease) in Chronic Hemodialysis Patients

Pseudotumoral calcinosis (CPT) is a condition characterized by the deposition of calcium phosphate crystals in the periarticular tissues, forming large calcified masses. Although the pathophysiology of CPT is not fully understood, an increase in the calcium-phosphate product beyond the precipitation threshold and severe hyperparathyroidism appear to play a significant role. Treatment remains controversial, with surgical excision often recommended. We report a case of CPT in a 74-year-old diabetic patient undergoing chronic hemodialysis who experienced progressively worsening pain in the left hip for six months, along with mobility difficulties. A CT scan revealed a calcified mass on the posterior thigh, likely explaining the electric shock-like pain, as well as compression of the superficial femoral artery causing decubitus pain resembling critical limb ischemia. The biological assessment showed elevated calcium-phosphate levels and hyperparathyroidism. Surgical excision is not indicated due to the mass’s proximity to vascular and nerve structures. This case highlights the diagnostic and therapeutic challenges of CPT, emphasizing the need for iterative angioplasties, considering that this condition is rare in chronic hemodialysis patients with calcified periarticular masses.

Application of Multi-criteria Decision-making Methods for Forensic Analysis of Mechanical Parts in Vehicle Accidents using q-Rung Orthopair Fuzzy Numbers

This study explores the application of a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) approach based on q-rung orthopair fuzzy numbers to identify the origin of mechanical parts found at vehicle accident scenes. The primary objective is to determine the most likely vehicle to which these parts belong by evaluating key criteria such as compatibility, damage level, serial number matching, and color compatibility. Q-rung orthopair fuzzy numbers offer an advanced method to handle the inherent uncertainty and vagueness associated with forensic evaluations, particularly in scenarios where data is incomplete or imprecise. The proposed methodology involves defining the criteria, assigning membership and non-membership degrees using q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets, and applying an aggregation process to effectively rank alternatives. This approach facilitates flexible decision-making by accommodating different levels of confidence and uncertainty, making it particularly suitable for forensic applications where evidence is often ambiguous. The findings demonstrate that integrating q-rung orthopair fuzzy numbers into the MCDM framework significantly enhances the accuracy and reliability of identifying vehicle components involved in accidents. The proposed methodology provides a systematic tool to support forensic investigations, aiding in the determination of liability and contributing to more robust outcomes in mechanical evidence analysis.

Neurotoxicity is increasingly recognized as a critical factor impacting long-term health, with growing evidence linking it to both neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases. Pesticides, widely used in agriculture and industry, have emerged as significant contributors to neurotoxic risk, given their capacity to disrupt key neurodevelopmental processes at low exposure levels. As conventional animal models present limitations in interspecies translation, human-derived neuron-based in vitro screening strategies are urgently needed to assess potential toxicants accurately. Human-induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) offer an innovative and scalable source for human-specific neuronal models that complement traditional animal-based approaches and support the development of predictive assays for neurotoxicity. Recent various stem cell models, including 2D cultures, 3D organoids, and microfluidic systems, are now available, advancing predictive neurotoxicology by simulating key aspects of human neural development and function. With the integration of High-Throughput (HT) and High-Content (HC) screening methodologies, these hiPSC-based systems enable efficient, large-scale evaluation of chemical effects on neural cells, enhancing our ability to detect early biomarkers of neurotoxic effects. Identifying early biomarkers of neurotoxic is essential to developing therapeutic interventions before irreversible damage occurs. This is particularly crucial in the context of developmental neurotoxicity, where early exposure to toxicants can have lifelong consequences. This review specifically presents an in-depth overview of the current progress in hiPSC-derived neural models and their applications in neurotoxicity testing, with a specific focus on their utility in assessing pesticide-induced neurotoxicity. Emphasizing future research priorities, we highlight the potential of these models to transform predictive toxicology, offering more human-relevant assessments and advancing the field toward a more precise evaluation of environmental neurotoxicants.

Physiotherapy Undergraduate Students’ Perception About Clinical Education; A Qualitative Study

Background: Clinical education is an important component of physiotherapy education programs. It provides insights to the students in the fields of physiotherapy practice, develops leadership, and enhances their clinical skills in patient assessment, examination, diagnosis, treatment, planning, and intervention selection. The dimension of physiotherapy education is in the developing phase in Nepal. For further growth, the experience and the perception of the students are very important. Through this, the facilitators and barriers in physiotherapy clinical education need to be recognized. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the facilitators and barriers in physiotherapy clinical education in Nepal from a student’s perspective.Objectives: The main objective of this study was to identify the perception of physiotherapy undergraduate students about their clinical education and to find out the facilitators and barriers in clinical education.Methods: A qualitative research using focused group discussion was conducted. Ethical considerations were taken from respective departments and IRC approval was taken. BPT 3rd year, 4th year, and intern students of KUSMS were called to participate in the study. After the consent from the participants, focus groups of 6 participants (2 participants from each 3rd year, 4th year, and intern) were formed. In five FGDs, data saturation was observed and no further FGDs were conducted. FGDs were collected with audio tape recordings. The data were transcribed verbatim and translated into the English language. Then data coding was done and themes and sub-themes were generated from the codes.Results: Through the transcribed and translated data, seven themes were generated which were clinical education, student expectation, student attitude and behavior, roles and responsibilities of clinical educators, exposure, resources, and miscellaneous. These headings explained the perception of facilitators and barriers.Conclusion: The facilitators and barriers to physiotherapy clinical education were identified through student’s perspectives. These findings should be considered while preparing the guiding document for clinical education to enhance the quality of education.

Anterior Laparoscopic Approach Combined with Posterior Approach for Lumbosacral Neurolysis: A Case Report

Background and importance: Sacral fractures often lead to injuries of the lumbosacral nerve, which will cause tremendous damage to the patient’s motor and sensory functions. At present, the most commonly used surgical method is the posterior median approach, the extent and degree of neurolysis are often insufficient, so the effect of neurolysis is not well, and the functional recovery of patients after operation is often incomplete.Clinical presentation: The patient was a 17-year-old male who accidentally fell from a height and landed on his hip. The main clinical feature of the patient was persistent radiating pain in the right lower extremity with right lower limb sensorimotor disorder. The results of the X-ray examination indicated a sacral fracture and a right pubic fracture. After the injury, the patient underwent pelvic internal fixation surgery within 72 hours. Then 6 months after the surgery, there was no significant improvement in right lower limb function, and the patient came to our hospital seeking treatment. Considering the severe lumbosacral plexus injury and the history of surgery, we performed an “Anterior surgery approach combined with posterior approach for lumbosacral neurolysis” for the patient, postoperative radiation pain disappeared completely, and there were significant improvements in the muscle strength of some muscles and sensory function.Conclusion: The relaxation of the lumbosacral plexus is usually performed through a single surgical approach, which has great limitations in the effect of relaxation. Here, we demonstrate a case in which posterior lumbar incision and anterior laparoscopic lumbosacral plexus neurolysis can benefit the patient, the lumbosacral nerve was released to a great extent. We aim to bring this case to the attention of our worldwide neurosurgical colleagues and share our surgical approach to assist those who may encounter this case in the future.

From this perspective, a singularity could actually symbolize a transformation of the underlying structures and laws of our universe, providing insights into the relationships among energy, curvature, and existence of the universe itself. In cyclical cosmology, the universe can be understood as existing in two distinct states: a static potential state and an active kinetic state. Quantum mechanics also reinforces the belief that even in seemingly empty spaces, vacuum fluctuations and differences in potential can give rise to emergent phenomena.

Development of Latent Fingerprints Using Food Coloring Agents

Aim and objective: The current study aims to explore the effectiveness of food dyes as potential agents for the formation of latent fingerprints on non-porous substrates. Introduction: The development of fingerprints is a long-established forensic technique crucial for identifying perpetrators. Traditional methods often use various powders to reveal latent fingerprints on different surfaces, but these methods can be costly and pose health risks when exposed to humans. Consequently, there is an increasing demand for alternative techniques that are cost-effective while still providing high-resolution fingerprint visibility. Materials and methods: In this study, Colormist Super whip food powder red, blue, orange, turquoise, and pink was used for the Development of Latent fingerprints on different non-porous surfaces (CD, Mobile screen, Glass bottle, Mirror, Steel bottle). Results: The ColorMist Super Whip edible powders proved successful in developing high-quality finger marks with visible level 1 and level 2 fingerprint details across all substrates, showcasing its effectiveness in latent fingerprint enhancement. Conclusion: Food dyes provide a simple, cost-effective, and eco-friendly method for developing latent fingerprints on nonporous surfaces. Red and black dyes consistently deliver clear ridge detail, while turquoise performs well on glass. Surface type plays a crucial role in dye effectiveness; making food dyes a practical, non-invasive alternative for on-site forensic use.
